Zoku

Have you heard Zoku? I haven't until Annie told me about it because one of kids got one. It made Annie wanted one for us. I thought it was a neat toy and didn't realized it was healthy snacks because it has real fruits, interesting sugars, and AWESOME tastes!

Annie and I were exciting to make some and decided to test three different kinds of ice pops to try. We invited Katie to join with us to make ice pops. Making ice pops were a bit complex but fun to do. I think the worse part is to mesh the fruit, for example, blackberries has lot of seeds. :D

We pour some in the Zoku and see how it goes. Cool. That was not the exciting part yet until you pull it out from the Zoku. THAT was so exciting because you can see what we put it in there.

Those pictures show how fun it was. :D After we made one batch and decided to make second batch of ice pops. Yummy, we were not sure if we wanted to make third batch. We did but ended up didn't eat it. Each ice pops only have 2oz and it didn't have lot of it. I wouldn't be guilty since it's only 2 oz AND LOT of fruits in it. For example, you see three ice pops from above that Katie and Annie were holding.

First left ice pop was strawberries and banana, second was blackberries, blueberries, and banana, and third is orange cream (that included peaches and orange juice). Yup, yup, those fruits are in those ice pops. :D I mean you buy real fruit and chop them then threw them in blender. Done with blender and add some stuff then put in Zoku. That's it! Amazing tastes! Unfortunately ice pops ended up goes to our dinner. :D  (Of course, we had to find something to eat to satisfy our stomaches.)

That was my adventure from last night with exciting new toy in my home. It was fun. Let's see how often we will make this year with Zoku. :S

My friend emailed me this video and I liked it. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Monster Haircut

I know you wanted to see my monster hair before you make a decision if the student was right or not. Here you go!

Who Should I Trust?

Last Thursday, I got my haircut. Funny thing about getting a haircut--I ALWAYS got the same results from four different stylists at different times. I showed several pictures what I would like and gave some ideas. They looked at those pictures and said that one good for you. Okay.. go cut my hair to make me look cute. The picture looked not too short or not too long. I ended up--umm short, maybe if one more inch then it would be very short. And I didn't look same from that picture! I always ended up differently than the picture. And SERIOUSLY, every time stylists finished up with my hair and I always looked like old fart woman with fluffy hair! (Sobbing, I do not want to look OLD FART SINGLE WOMAN!)

I had hard time to fix my hair look cute. Oh boy! Today one person asked me to sub for him. I tried to fix my hair to look good for school. I thought I did and left the apartment for sub. Some people said I looked cute or they liked my hair. In my mind, whew! I guess I did okay job with my hair.. Of course, some kids spotted my CIs instead my new hair style! Haha, they were fascinated my CIs because of colors (Blue/Red). They were so jealous because of colors AND TWO CIs. Funny kids. (A few of kids have two CIs but only tan or dark brown. They do have options of colors, but I guess the parents didn't want that--I wondered why..)

Speak of funny kids-- I went in one of classrooms to help the teacher with deaf kids.

Girl: Your hair! Your hair spunky!
Me: Yeah, same you. (She has wavy hair) Different bangs. (her bangs were long, almost over her eyes)
Girl: (giggling) Me grow bangs. (act cool)
Boy: (surprised) Your hair! You spunky! You spunky, you fix-hair haunted hair? You monster?
Me: (Puzzled, was he kidding?) Monster?
Boy: Your hair, you fix-flip why? Same monster. You monster. (Oh boy, he was serious about this...)

Geez, was he telling the truth about my hair? I started to wondering should I trust somebody who comment about my hair. Was my hair looked so awful? Maybe other people were afraid to say the truth! Maybe it did look awful!

A Book

I was bored and decided to go to a library to get some books to read. I thought it would be good for me to read, so I could improve my English grammar. And I don't have to worry wasting my money on it if I hated it. Right now, I'm on seventh book since I borrowed those
books two and half weeks ago. Well, I didn't finished one book because it was bored. I guess it's technically to say sixth book for me.

Before I hit it off with books, Annie found one library near our apartment. I went there and saw it was a tiny library! I was successful to borrowed four books and bought it home with me. Those books were children literature. I started off one of books. In a few days later, Annie told me about awesome library in Columbia (about 40 minutes away from our apartment). I wanted to check it out myself.

Annie and I went there and saw it was bigger library than other library we went! I was excited because I knew there would be lot of books available for me to borrow. I looked at my listing and found some of books were available! Oh I made a listing the books what I wanted to read. Anyway I was exciting to go back after I finished with two books. I think Annie and I will go back tomorrow to return two books AND get more books to read!

The point of the story was about one book I really like a lot. The book surprised me because it was different than other books I have read. The book called, The Giant-Slayer by Iain Lawrence. From this book, I have learned about polio. I know polio is but never knew how it works, etc. This book touched my heart. I finished this book this morning and still sinking in my head and heart. I'm grateful that we do not have to worry about polio today because they discovered a vaccine to protect from getting polio.

Funny thing, it's children literature book. It's a fantasy story, but also it's about polio. I will not go farther about this book to put you sleep. :D

I hope my mood of reading books will continue for a long time until I run out of my mind! Oh there were two cute books I liked: The Year Money Grew on Tree by Aaron Hawkins and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin. Oh yeah, there is one more, Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. Okay, I better shut up and let you go peace.

My Birthday

Hoo-ary! I have arrived top of the mountain but now I'm afraid soon will fell down just like Jack and Jill. Sighs, another year. I have celebrated my birthday with friends. Gosh, that cake has a lot of icing, but yellow cake tasted so good.

Darn, you couldn't see the color of the flame on the candles. It shows red and orange flames!

I got a piece of cake.. Pretty icing,

but I ate yellow cake because the icing was too much for me.

New Look

My parents came here for my graduation and gave me the picture of Graz. Mom had the picture and made copies for all for her kids, I'm one of them. I have been saving some money for the frame since the picture is big! Finally I was able to get a frame for my Graz picture! Annie helped me some for my birthday present!

We went to the store to find a frame. Oh yeah, we have been waiting for days for discounts. That weekend they had 55% off for custom frame. YES! Good timing! We went there and I had hard time to pick a good frame but I'm relief that I wasn't alone at that time. I finally made a decision and had to wait for two weeks to get it done.

Last Friday morning I had a glory morning to pick up the frame. I admitted I was very nervous how it would look with the frame. I saw they have 60% off! I have a wonderful friend who asked the worker if they can replace 55% to 60% and they did! I saved some money on it!

I came home and put it up on the wall. Surprised it looked great! Annie said the flower reminded her of the movie, Sound of Music. You know the song, Edelweiss. That flower didn't look exactly Edelweiss but similar. I guess it was good choice for this frame. I couldn't get the picture of whole thing but that's best I can do to show you.

Have you seen this?

I sometimes enjoy children movies. I know it can be either really good or really dumb. I always took risk to watch it to see if I like it or not. That one I really liked it. It made me laugh and smile. I think I did yell NOOO or something like that to make sure they heard me. (Annie was watching with me. I guess I feel like I want to be involved in this movie.) I think it's super cute and I think your kids will like it. (maybe adults?) :D It's just my opinion.
