I FORGOT......

What I did all day was packing! I cannot wait to get things over with it. I’m looking forward next weekend with peace. I don’t know about that one yet. So at around 3pm, I realized it was good time to take my car to get new tires. My poor tires were bald. Annie need to get her brakes fluid and two new tires.

We found a place to go for our cars. The man told us that it would take about one and half hours to completed both of our car. Groans. Fine. We were not prepared for that long waiting so we decided to go outside and walk to see anything excited for us. We walked for about thirty minutes and found Panera Bread. It will be good time for us to have dinner since it’s about 5pm. We stopped there and ordered our sandwiches. We found wonderful seats to sit and wait for our sandwiches.

I was talking blah blah and uh oh! NNNNOOOOO! Sighs, my rechargeable battery has died. And worse part is that I FORGOT bring extra battery with me. That moment it was too WEIRD not to change rechargeable battery. I was stuck and eyes wide. Oh no, it’s silent again. TOO WEIRD to be silent--too LONG! I want sounds around me. I like the sounds because I feel everything is alive around me. Since it’s died and the sounds stopped. Does it makes sense to you?

Especially when we walked back to the car place. THAT was creepy because I cannot able to hear cars passing me. I told Annie about that. She laughed at me because she remember about one month ago, we went for a walking. I can’t stand listen the cars passing me even only few cars! That one has LOTS of cars passing us including big trucks. Wow, I realized I finally got used to it. That’s good news for me. But its not the POINT of this story. I WANNA my cochlear implant BACK on my head and have SOUNDS around me. Funny it made me feel safer, odd popped in my head. It never occur to me before with my hearing aids.

I have learned my lesson.. Bring that extra rechargeable battery with me ALL THE TIME.. I did but that day I didn’t and it decided to quit! Sighs.. Well, that’s my weird experience for today.

And that experience has surprised me that I started glue to my cochlear implant as it’s part of my life already--I only had for about 8 weeks. Wow, I’m still exciting for my future how much I would improve with my cochlear implant. :D

Accent

While I was staying at Missy’s house, Missy and I wanted to have ice cream and movie while the kids have gone bed. Missy asked me to pick which movie I would like to watch. I went to her bedroom closet to see what she have. I saw there was a box says “Sense & Sensibility” and “Persuasion” BBC. I haven’t seen BBC production. I thought it was good to watch with Missy! So we watched Persuasion together. I had good time with Missy. The movie was very good. I loved it. But during the movie, I noticed something about this movie. I couldn’t put my fingers on it yet. It’s about speaking or voices something. I decided to ignore it.

The next day I wanted to watch Sense & Sensibility before I go home. I had extra time to watch the movie alone in Grant’s bedroom (that’s where I’m sleeping for several days). Of course, I’m listening while watching this movie. Again I heard something funny about this people talking. It’s not same as what we are using.. I was thinking umm why different? UMM.. Emphasize something but why? UMM.. Can’t figure it out by myself. So I finished that movie and life continues until I fly back home. Annie took me for lunch. We sit down and talk. Somehow that thing bothers me. I told Annie about it even described what it made sounds. Annie said, “that how British made sounds.. you noticed the accent..” WHAT?! That accent! NO WONDER why I was confused for awhile about sounds!

We got home and Annie tried to find the sample video from Amazon. She tried to listen if I truly did hear the British accent. True enough, she did hear the accent. Wow!

Sick! Sick!

I’m sick sick sick sick.. Ugh! Bad timing!

Now I’m sitting on the couch, the kleenex box is next to me, medicine is front of me on the table, pile of kleenex on the floor, and watching the general conference. I’m starting feel that I’m going to feel sleep in any minutes. I need find something that will keep me awake.

That time we are using Annie’s work laptop and connect to our television so we can watch big picture and better quality of sounds. Last time we used my imac and it was sort of pain of neck because I had to unplug and move to the table so we can sit on the couch while watching. That time we don’t want to do that! Clever to us because several months ago we missed LOST and wanted to watch on the internet.

The problem we don’t want to use imac! What’s our solution for that? UMMM AH! I remember that I used my laptop to my work and hook it up to connect the projector. I also remember I did one time use television and it worked fine! So we tried and it worked! But the sounds were not great. We only can hear from laptop not television. I thought it was better than nothing..

Now I have about an hour left before the general conference starts. I put everything ready to connect between television and laptop. I tried to figure how can to get the sounds goes to television. I plug two choices of holes and finally found one works! YAY! YAY! Big and smooth pictures and nice sounds from television. I feel like we are using television channel, amazing, uh? Yeah, there are no closed caption. But there are ASL on that video. It’s better than nothing, right? Not bad anyway.. Not bad weekend except COLD! Blah!
